
Christian Lolo Moreno is an active percussionist and drum-set artist from Chicago, IL, specializing in theatrical, orchestral and commercial music.
As a freelance performer, he has made guest appearances with an assortment of renowned music ensembles, including the Chicago Philharmonic, Elgin Symphony, Northwest Indiana Symphony, Paramount Theatre, Marriott Theatre, Music Theatre Works, Porchlight Theatre, Metropolis, Peacherine Ragtime Society, and Windy City Ramblers Brass Band, to name a few. In 2022, he was invited to hold the keyboard III chair on the national broadway tour of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, having traveled to over 65 cities across the United States, Mexico and Canada. From 2017-2019, Christian gigged extensively across the U.S as the touring drummer for the theatrical show, Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters. An in-demand 'drummer for hire', he collaborates regularly for a number of jobbing bands, pickup orchestras, entertainment groups, worship services, and independent artists in the Chicagoland area, both on stage and in the studio.
As an educator, Mr. Moreno currently maintains his own private teaching studio. Prior to this, he was on faculty with Ravinia Festival's La Sistema program, Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras, and served as the front ensemble instructor at Schaumburg High School, from 2013-16.
Christian received his musical training from the DePaul University School of Music, where he earned a B.M in percussion performance, and has recently returned to pursue a M.M, with a focus in orchestral studies. His teachers include: Cynthia Yeh (Principal Percussionist of the Chicago Symphony), Ian Ding (Former Assistant Principal Percussionist with the Detroit Symphony), Eric Millstein (Acting Principal Percussionist of the Lyric Opera of Chicago), and Michael Kozakis (Top Call Freelancer). He is also receiving additional private instruction and coaching from Ted Atkatz (Former Principal Percussionist of the Chicago Symphony, L.A Studio Musician).
